The Apple Streusel Pie was my absolute favorite dish I made so far. This pie was a personal challenge for me. It was the first time I’ve ever made dough from scratch. Growing up, a few people within my family were expert pie makers. I, was not counted among them. So learning how to make this had a personal feeling attached to it. The best part was the making of the apple filling in the pie.
Apples are by far my favorite fruit. I believe the most satisfying part of making this pie was the creation of the streusel topping. I never knew that making streusel would be so simple. Simply mixing butter with brown sugar and bread flour would make such a delicious topping! The pie came out great! I’ve learned that nothing is as hard as it first seems and by making this pie, I accomplished more than just getting a grade. I overcame what I thought was a mountain.
